Claus E. Mikkelsen has more than 30 years of experience in SQL tuning. In 2011 he discovered the EXPLAIN STMTCACHE ALL statement and since then he has been using it for SQL tuning purposes. Since january 2015 he has been working for the largest Bank in the nordic region. His assignment is to tune their DB2 for z/OS systems. Here he extensively uses the presented SQL tuning approach in order to ensure that a tuning opportunity has the expected impact. He also use it to calculate the expected benefit of the SQL tuning opportunities.s
